Wakarusa!!!!

What a journey! I just got back to Omaha from Wakarusa. Wakarusa is a 4-day music festival fifteen minutes from Fayette, Arkansas. The campground was so beautiful. The festival is located in the middle of Mulberry Mountain so trees just flood the area. Even though it was 90 degrees everyday, I still had a blast. Now time to give a little insight on the madness.

My group left Wednesday for Arkansas. Jenni, Nick, Matt, Marcus, and myself all rode in Matt’s van. We took the van to Bonnorro last year so I knew it would be a smooth ride…or so I thought. It took us about 8 hours to get to the campground. The roads were very narrow and it was pitch black when we entered the park so it was a little nerve racking driving through. After the long process of getting our wristbands and driving to out campsite, we set up shop then took a little siesta. Around 9am the heat was unbearable so we started our day with a cold beer and a bowl. The camp had a Frisbee golf course so I decided to give it a shot for the first time ever. I actually did pretty well for my first time except when I reached the ninth hole. I tossed the Frisbee and SMACK! The Frisbee went straight into the water. At least I pulled off a Kaiser. :) I wouldn’t have been upset but it wasn’t my Frisbee. It was Jenni’s bf, Nick, disc. I felt horrible so I looked all over to see if I could replace it. I finally was pointed in the direction of Craig, the emo guy that sells hammocks. He pulled out his case of Frisbee’s and I chose a rainbow disc that was similar to Nick’s disc. I gave Nick the disc and hoped all was well. He probably thinks I’m crazy but I feel better for getting him a replacement. I didn’t catch too many bands on Thursday except for Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The band was amazing! They threw in some Lady Gaga, which made my night. Overall, the show was one hell of a dance party. :) I called it an early night Thursday and went to bed after the show. **Weird moment: Marcus, whom I just met Wednesday, decided he wanted to grab me in the middle of the night since we were sharing tents. I shut that down real quick. BE A GENTLEMAN NOT A CHUMP!!

On Friday, Lynn, Josh, Cassandra, and Ryan arrived at the campsite. It was a fun having good neighbors around the camp. I ate some molly and saw some good bands. Rebelution, STS9, Bassnectar, and Tea Leaf Green were in my line up for the evening. Bassnectar was awesome I danced my face off all night then went to bed. Definitely a successful night.

Saturday. Oh Saturday! Well this was by far the most exciting night. Lounged, drank beer, and smoked during the blistering day heat then once 5 o’clock hit, it was party time! I ate some shrooms and molly them headed off into the land of Wakarusa. Definitely a wild trip to say the least. I started off with the Black Keys. My favorite show out of all the bands! They are amazing and I can’t wait to see them in August! ☺ Then it was on to Slightly Stoopid, Widespread Panic, STS9, Umphrey’s McGee, and Wookiefoot. Everyone was a little tired so they went to bed early but I was still higher than a kite and really wanted to see the chaos unfold at Wookiefoot. I decided to watch the show so I headed to the revival tent where they were playing. I met a guy named Casey and we sat down and talked about life. We decided to smoke a bowl then eat some more molly before Wookiefoot. Wookiefoot was a delight to see. It was a circus on stage! After Wookiefoot, Casey and I decided to go to the waterfall to watch the sunset. We stared the 30 minute hike downhill to the waterfall. It was 4:30am and pitch black. It probably wasn’t the smartest idea but I had a great time. The waterfall was so peaceful. It was just what I needed after a hectic day. I met Austin while at the waterfall. Casey and I wanted to smoke a bowl but we didn’t have a lighter so Austin ended up being our night and shining armor. I chatted with Austin and he invited me to go back stage to the revival tent to check out the scene. We exchanged numbers and I passed out back at camp. When I woke up, I decided to clean a bit then get ready for the day. Later on I met up with Austin and he gave me a badge so I could wonder around. I got a first hand look at what goes on backstage and got to check out some bands up close and personal. It was very interesting. Thanks Austin!! The bands I saw were Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, State Radio, and John Butler Trio. After the show, Austin asked if I wanted to get some chocolate ganja that was given to the singer of Wookiefoot. It was delicious after all the excitement, I decided to head back to camp and crash. I crawled in the van, which was very comfortable and passed out. Sleep was much needed at this point. We packed up Monday and here I am, back at home writing about my adventure. Wakarusa was a place for sin and I absolutely loved it! It’s not too often you can run buck wild without any consequences. Back to the real world tomorrow.

My Hood

The Rose Theatre

The Federal Reserve Bank

Building for sale? Who wants to lend me some dolla bills? :)

The Woodmen Tower and The First National Tower

It was a beautiful day today! I took some photos on top of the parking garage across from B Vaidas apartment. I want to continue this so I can have a glimpse of Omaha to always view. :)

Thoughts on Particular Events : /

It's about bedtime so I'm in bed enjoying some delicious brox (god's green grass :) ) and blogging. I had a great weekend with friends but something is really bothering me. Alan was in town from Chicago and totally made me feel like shit. I thought I had a good FRIENDSHIP with him but he just tried to take matters a little too far. Last night I went to the Rose and Crown ( a bar in Omaha that I absolutely love! It has definitely got me into trouble but the memories!) for B Vaidas birthday. Side note: He still has a thing for me but I checked out Omaha from on top of huge parking garage and talked about life so I think we will be able to be friends and still hang. I hope for the best in that situation. I saw some peeps I haven't seen in awhile and it was oh so good to catch up! My old roomie, Corrie, was there and she used to date Alan. I know she is still hung up on him and it breaks my heart because she is such an awesome person. Alan of course was being Alan but he decided to hang all over me and attempt to kiss me. He was hammered and it was extremely inappropriate. I behaved myself the best I could and tried to control the situation. This is going to sound sooo stupid and I know I'm going to blog about how much of a dumb ass I was for even thinking of this pathetic thought but I sort of like Alan. We are a lot alike and that scares me but I'm realizing that I kind of a bitch and that I can be really insensitive at times. I want to change that part of me but I don't even know where to begin. If I let it all out, I'm sure to get taken advantage of or for the love of sweet jebus, maybe get my heart broken. Aww!! I hope not. I still believe a person will have many loves in there life. People change. People grow apart. People find different interests. It's a way of life but don't ever forget the people that got you there. Oh fuck! I've turned into a sap. I just lost a little respect for him for even thinking about pulling that shit in front of Corrie. It's pretty fucked up. I just don't understand. He sends me texts about how it likes me and blah blah blah. Don't trust a hoe. I should know. Don't trust me. (I'm working on this!) It feels really good to write everything out. Sure it's awesome to talk to friends and get there input on my situations but I feel that I'm my worst critic and that's how it should be. Wait is be a preposition? Those damn cards have made be want to improve my grammar. Weird. Subliminal messages do work. But all in all, I'm not going to by into the bullshit. I'm going to try to be a better person and continue to explore this earth til I can no longer. :) I talked to my parents and they had a great time in Florida. My mom told me when they were on the beach a shark came close to shore and chaos broke out among the people. No one was eaten alive by the killer shark but my mom enjoyed her real life Jaws story. My parents are having a hell of a time in Florida with their flight situation. The flight was delayed so they are going to be stuck in Dallas for the night. I talked to my mom and she seemed extremely frustration. Get home soon parents :) Today was a day full of procrastination. I need to haul ass Tuesday and Wednesday in order to get everything done before the trip. Tomorrow we move at work. I'm really excited but it is going to be a shit show. Moving an entire lab is going to be an interesting thing to see. Be sure to take your xanax before entering the building. Thankyou. One thing to look forward to is Wakarusa. T-minus 2 days!! I showed pics of the madness to come. I love the creativity we put into our events. Love you j cacek!! We are going to have an amazing time!! Alright it's time for bed. It's going to be a long one. I forgot I have that art class tomorrow. Ah! The joys of summer. Pickles is passed out. I will follow her lead. Goodnight world and....

2 days to go!! Preparation is key! :)

Gone Fishing!

I had a lovely sunday with Mr. Brent Harold. Brent took me to his home town in Red Oak, IA for a fun filed day of fishing and exploration. Brent's family lives on a beautiful farm that includes so much vegetation and a gorgeous pond that screams relaxation. It is definitely different then the city. Hands down. I caught a blue gill! It wasn't very large but I'll be a pro in no time! Brent's brother's gf, Tiffany, was amazing at fishing. She couldn't keep them off the line. I was very impressed with her skills. Thanks again to the Harold family for all the hospitality. I had an awesome time!

Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs All Weekend Long!!!!!!

Stuck in Thin Air

This week has been pretty boring for the most part but next week will be insane! My little Linda is leaving for Spain today! I'm so happy for her. I hope she has a blast and learns a ton about her heritage. :) See you in a month gf!! After heavy debate, I decided to go to Wakarusa. I got a ticket for $120.00 (reg. $194.34) I just couldn't resist plus it will go in the books for festivals I've attended. You only live once...or at least that's what I told my dad. He actually took it well when I told him I was going to Arkansas for a 4 day hippie fest. My parents are currently in route to Florida. They were suppose arrive yesterdsay but problems with layover in Minneapolis prevented them on making it on time. They left at 7:30am this morning and should be enjoying the beach my noon! Have fun mom and dad! :) My mom has always wanted to live on the beach but the BP oil spill may prevent that from happening. It has been over a month and oil is still leaking into the ocean. WTF?! You would think a company that has been charging their customers up the ass for a product would figure out how to stop an oil leak. Something that is even more infurriating is the fact that you can go on cnn.com and see live feed of the oil spilling into the ocean. I hope the problem is fixed soon but the damage has already been done. The wildlife, fisherman, and so many other people out there will take a hit from this disaster. All we can do is keep our head up and keep moving forward. Last night I went out for dinner and drinks wih Mimick and Ripa. It was a good time. I will always love those chicas to death! :) So Alan is coming into town. That boy is scandalous but then again so am I. Something about that boy gets me but I must resist the smooth talker. HE IS TOXIC! Only problems will come of this but I would still like to see his arrogant face. :) I need to take it easy tonight and get ready for the trip. Well I must get back to the harvest. Warren brought doughnuts! Score. Im super hungry. Well til the next time.

Keep Truckin!

Peace and Harmony

Imagine all the people. Living life in peace.

Just another day in paradise!

Monday's Blue Skies

It was absolutely gorgeous today! I kept busy this weekend. Trying not to think about past events. Why do I get myself in these situations?! (Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah Roma roma-ma Ga ga ooh la la) Haha. I guess all I can do is laugh about my newly found seven degrees of separation from Ms. Gaga. Friday, I went to the waiting room with a group of beavers to see Lonely Estates and Rock, Paper Dynamite. Both very got bands. I drank too much as usual and jumped on top of some guys school bus to find 3 bikes and a rocking horse bolted onto the top. Classic! Saturday started off rough. My goal was to be at work by 6am but didn't get in til 6:30am. Overall, I'm impressed that I made it to work at that time due to the debauchery that occurred the night before. I thought work went well. We were slammed and I feel that I handled myself in a very efficient manner. I actually like the short-term culture room and am so happy my work is giving me the opportunity to further my skills in the lab. I guess I'll find out tomorrow how I did. Hope all is well. Fingers crossed. :) Saturday night was the main event! I saw SatchelGrande at the spring fling in Dundee. They were amazing!! Bring on that funk! I had a great time dancing with Jon Van. We definitely showed our moves and are worthy of dance-off. pants-off status. I hung out with Brett Vaida on Saturday night. I really enjoy his company but I feel that he is moving way too fast. I've tried to explain it to him but he seems to look the other direction. I don't know what more to do but sadly I'm just more annoyed than ever. We shall see what happens but definitely not ready to jump ship quit yet from the single life. Damn you Gaga Boy! You have turned my world upside down. I know I only knew you for a brief moment but I learned quit a lot from our conversations. It's always nice to get input from the other side of the fence. I hope I do get to see you again and talk about this train wreck. For now I'll continue to focus on my goals and enjoy summer. Yeah Yeah!! I thought this season would never come. So let's get back on track. Sunday I woke up from B Vaida's house. He had to drive me home since by car was somewhere around midtown. I think he might of been a little upset. Another thing I wish he would change is his Negative Nancy attitude. My goodness. I live 5 blocks away. Take some herb and relax. (That's what Tony said!) ha. After he dropped me home, I couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to call my parents and see what they were up to. They were just working on a few projects at home so I decided to give my scooter a much needed wash. It looks so fresh and clean now! :) Later that night I had the notorious sand volleyball league. We sucked ass the first two games but pulled it together during the last one. Ripa is making more improvements everyday. She will be a pro in no time! She also got hammered and keep going on about the vajay. Love that girl to death! :) I drank a few pitchers with the team then scooted off into the night sky. (hammered of course) I decided to stop at B Vaidas again to see if anything would change. Still not feeling it. I wish he would lighten up. Hopefully next week will be a different story. He asked me to go out to dinner with his parents and his brother and his finance for him and his brother's birthday. I declined. I just think that move is for serious couples only period. (sort of redundant but whatevs!) Finally to Monday. Very very relaxing! Went to Andy Meads apt to smoke some Maui Wowi and enjoy a movie in the comforts of his ice cold air conditioned apartment. It was glorious! We watched Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale. Shit for a movie but it was good to hang with Andy. He has a Vic's popcorn stand on the first floor of his apartment building. It was so good we ended up going back for seconds. After I left Andy's I met up with J. Cacek and went swimming at Nikki's apt pool. I met a couple new cats. They were all cool and I'm sure we all enjoyed ourselves playing in the sun. After the pool, we headed to Walmart. I know, I know! Walmart is the devil but I'm broke right now and would like to continue my rock star lifestyle. (or so i think :/) Finally home. A little sleepy. I decided to start a blog to keep track of my life. Time is flying by and I feel that I don't take out enough time to embrace the moments . I'm going to try my best to record all of my days so when I'm old and gray I can laugh about all the dumb shit and exciting adventures I've done in the past. Tomorrow starts off the work week. Ugh! I feel I did not complete one task on my to do list. There is always next week. Fingers crossed my boss gives me Wakarusa off. That would be such a breath of fresh air! Well goodnight world and from the words of the infamous Matthew Vaslaskis:

Keep on truckin!
